Nas leaving 's' out of Bill Gates

In the song “Hate Me Now” off I Am… (1999), Nas raps, as well as I hear it:

Expandin’ more to the big screen, Bill Gate dreams

Since ‘Bill Gates’ is the modifier of ‘dreams’, he deems it appropriate to ‘singularize’ the personal name. I’ve also watched 2 live versions of the song, one from 1999, another from 2012, both of which sonically seemed, to me, to be in line with the quote above. One peculiarity to this is that the lyrics show ‘Bill Gates dreams’ on popular DSPs (e.g. Apple Music) and, more importantly, Genius. It may just well be that I’m hearing it wrong but I have seen an Instagram caption from a somewhat influential person in the rap business with the same quote I’ve provided above. I don’t know..
